Comparison
Everyone delivers today. Only one finds forever.
They all get tonight’s gallery to your client — that part is table stakes. Year three is where they separate: can you still find one frame in a decade of work, and is it still in Europe? Pic-Time has the search. Picdrop has the EU. Picspace has both.

The questions people actually search
- Which client gallery has both AI search and EU hosting?
- On the evidence in the table above, only Picspace. Pic-Time matches the search — face, object and natural-language, inside the gallery — but runs servers across the EU, the US and Australia. Picdrop keeps photos in Germany but has no AI or face search, and none at all inside a gallery you have already sent. Pixieset added natural-language search to its own library but not face search, and does not state where photos are stored. ShootProof has neither.
- What is a good Picdrop alternative?
- Picspace covers the same ground — client galleries with no account, password protection, proofing comments, ZIP downloads — and adds what Picdrop does not have: AI search by what is in the photo, face and people search, and search inside a gallery your client already received. Both store photos in the EU. Picdrop starts at €14.99/mo for 500 GB, Picspace at €19/mo for 250 GB; at around 1 TB it is €39.99 against €49.
- Picspace or Pixieset?
- Closer than it used to be: Pixieset now has natural-language and metadata search in its Photo Library, and a free Photo Editor that culls RAW files on your own machine. What it does not have is face and people search, a way for your client to search the gallery you sent them, or an upload link others can drop photos into. Pixieset gives 3 GB free against our 1 GB; at around 1 TB both land near $50 / €49.
- Picspace or Pic-Time?
- Pic-Time is the closest on search: they also offer face recognition, object search and natural-language search inside galleries. The differences sit elsewhere — Picspace keeps photos in the EU (Pic-Time runs servers in the EU, the US and Australia), and includes free local RAW culling and camera-to-cloud SFTP upload.
- Which client gallery keeps photos in the EU?
- Picspace stores photos in Frankfurt, Germany, and Picdrop hosts in Germany. Pic-Time states servers in the EU, the US and Australia. ShootProof states transfers outside the EEA to the United States. Pixieset does not state a storage location in its published material.
- Is there a free client gallery plan?
- Yes, from several. Picspace gives 1 GB and 50 photos a month, Picdrop 1 GB and 3 galleries, Pixieset 3 GB, ShootProof 100 photos, and Pic-Time a permanent free plan. All are free tiers rather than trials.
